Conceive --> Create --> Experience

In the true order of things one does not do something in order to be happy - one is happy and, hence, does,
something. One does not do some things in order to be
compassionate, one is compassionate and, hence, acts in a certain
way. The soul's decision precedes the body's action in a highly conscious
person. Only an unconscious person attempts to produce a state of the soul
through something the body is doing.

This is what is meant by the statement. "Your life is not about what your
body is doing." Yet it is true that what your body is doing is a
reflection of what your life is about.

How Very Very True This Is

You can't always get what you want. But if you try sometimes,
you get what you need.

Conversations with God, Bk1 (aka what I'm currently reading)

It is your judgments which keep you from joy, and your expectations which
make you unhappy.

So relevant, especially since I'm a Comm major

"Dirty Laundry" by Don Henley

I make my living off the evening news
Just give me something-something I can use
People love it when you lose,
They love dirty laundry

Well, I coulda been an actor, but I wound up here
I just have to look good, I dont have to be clear
Come and whisper in my ear
Give us dirty laundry

Kick em when theyre up
Kick em when theyre down
Kick em when theyre up
Kick em when theyre down
Kick em when theyre up
Kick em when theyre down
Kick em when theyre up
Kick em all around

We got the bubble-headed-bleach-blonde who
Comes on at five
She can tell you bout the plane crash with a gleam
In her eye
Its interesting when people die-
Give us dirty laundry

Can we film the operation?
Is the head dead yet?
You know, the boys in the newsroom got a
Running bet
Get the widow on the set!
We need dirty laundry

You dont really need to find out whats going on
You dont really want to know just how far its gone
Just leave well enough alone
Eat your dirty laundry

Kick em when theyre up
Kick em when theyre down
Kick em when theyre up
Kick em when theyre down

Kick em when theyre up
Kick em when theyre down
Kick em when theyre stiff
Kick em all around

Dirty little secrets
Dirty little lies
We got our dirty little fingers in everybodys pie
We love to cut you down to size
We love dirty laundry

We can do the innuendo
We can dance and sing
When its said and done we havent told you a thing
We all know that crap is king
Give us dirty laundry!

Found it in the book "On Death and Dying" by Dr. Elizabeth Kubler-Ross

Let me not pray to be sheltered from dangers but to be fearless in facing them.

Let me not beg for the stilling of my pain but for the heart to conquer it.

Let me not look for allies in life's battlefield but to my own strength.

Let me not crave in anxious fear to be saved but hope for the patience to win my freedom.

Grant me that I may not be a coward, feeling your mercy in my success alone; but let me find the grasp of your hand in my failure.
-- Rabindranath Tagore, Fruit-Gathering

Janis Joplin

"I don't understand why half the world is still crying, man, when the other half of the world is still crying too, man, I cant get it together. If you got a cat for one day, man I mean, if you, say, say, if you want a cat for 365 days, right you ain't got him for 365 days, you got him for one day, man.

"Well I tell you that one day man, better be your life, man. Because, you know, you can say, oh man, you can cry about the other 364, man, but you're gonna lose that one day, man, and that's all you've got. you gotta call that love, man. That's what it is, man.

"If you got it today you don't want it tomorrow, man, cause you don't need it, cause as a matter of fact, as we discovered in the train, tomorrow never happens, man.

"It's all the same fucking day, man."
- Janis Joplin, "Ball & Chain"
